Rajendra Agricultural University established in 1970, has completed four decades of its existence as the pioneer institute of Agricultural Education, Research and Extension. The main objective of this university is to provide facilities for the study of Agriculture, Fisheries, Animal Science and Agricultural Engineering and Agri-Business Management. It is also to conduct researches in these sciences and undertake the educational and extension programmes in agriculture among the rural clientele base, keeping in view the requirements of the state.

About

This Directorate was established in the year 1977 as a statutory wing of the University. Prior to this, the extension activities were controlled by the State Government. The objective behind creation of this Directorate was to establish a close linkage between the technology generation and technology dissemination units and establish linkages between State Department of Agriculture, University, ICAR and other Institutes. The Zonal Project Directorate, Zone II under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India guides, monitors and evaluates programmes organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra Madhopur, West Champaran. With the enactment of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University Act, 2016, with effect from 7th October, 2016, the erstwhile Rajendra Agricultural University, Bihar, Pusa (Samastipur) is converted into Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University. Accordingly, the University shall be governed by the provisions of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University Act, 2016.

Results:  OFT on weed management conducted during Kharif, 2015-16 at 10 different locations using variety RajendraSoniya  and result reviled that application of Metribuzin @0.7kg/ha+ one weeding at 60DAS found to be most effective recorded maximum yield ie 285q/ha.

Results: OFT conducted during kharif,2015 at eight different locations of East Champaran district using rice variety Prabhat in RBD. Routine agronomical practices were followed and result showed that minimum brown spot severity ie 18.11% and maximum grain yield ie 39.37 q/ha with B:C ratio 1.7  recorded in T.O.-I

T.O: II- Seed treatment with Carbendazim 50 wp @ 2 gm/kg seed   + two foliar sprays of Ridomil MZ 72 wp @ 2.0 gm/lit water.
